Do I Need Car A/C Repair?
If you turn on your car's air conditioner and nothing happens, that's a dead giveaway that you need car A/C repair.
There are other signs that indicate your car's air conditioning system needs work. When something changes about your air conditioning, make note of what's going on. Does it match any A/C issues listed below?
A/C Red Flags:
- Low or intermittent air pressure coming from the A/C vents
- Puddles of coolant around the vehicle
- Warm air instead of cool
- Unusual noises like rattling, banging or loud blowing
- Musty odors from the A/C
- Pools of water or the appearance of water stains inside the vehicle
If your car is pumping out warm air:
If your car's A/C is producing warm air, we'll ask you to come to J.J.'s Auto Service Center for an Evacuation and Recharge service. An expert mechanic will use a special machine to take the existing Freon out of your air conditioner and then refill the correct amount. We'll also add a UV-reactive dye—this allows us to see if there are any leaks in what should be a closed AC system.
If there aren't any leaks, a certified technician will refill the refrigerant and your car A/C repair will be complete.
If your car is producing no air at all:
If your car's A/C is producing no air at all, there could be an issue with your blower motor, resistor, compressor or another mechanical or electrical component of your air conditioning system. A service professional will ask you to bring your car in for a full diagnostic check so our certified mechanics can make the right car A/C repair for you.
Coolant System Flush
Your vehicle's cooling system contains coolant which helps transfer heat from the engine. Over time, the coolant becomes old and dirty. This will have a negative impact on your vehicles heating and air conditioning systems as well as other engine components. A coolant flush is advised to help keep your vehicle and top working condition. Call J.J.'s Auto Service Center to have your coolant system flushed in a professional, safe, and environmentally friendly way. (301) 374-8995.
