Service and Repair of Genesis Vehicles
Genesis is a young brand with a long service life ahead of it, and the owners who bring a G70, G80, G90, GV70 or GV80 to J.J.'s Auto Service Center are usually at the point where the free maintenance has run out and the dealer quote has stopped feeling reasonable. We are a good answer to that. What a Genesis actually needs
Maintenance on the manufacturer's schedule, not a generic one. The turbocharged 2.0T and 3.3T engines are particular about oil quality and interval, and a Genesis that has been stretched on oil changes will tell you so through the timing chain and the turbo. Brakes. These are heavy cars with large rotors and, on the sportier trims, aggressive pads that produce dust and wear faster than owners expect. We measure rather than guess, and we quote the correct pad compound for the car rather than the cheapest one that fits. Brake repair.
Suspension and tires. Genesis models ride on low-profile tires and, on some trims, adaptive dampers. Waldorf-area potholes are hard on both. We check alignment whenever a car comes in with uneven wear or a pull, because on a car this heavy an alignment problem gets expensive in tires quickly. Diagnostics. A modern Genesis has a lot of modules talking to each other, and a warning light is often a symptom of a circuit rather than a failed part.
