Full-Service Auto Repair in Waldorf & Charles County, MD

Service and Repair of Porsche Vehicles

Most of the Porsches we see at J.J.'s Auto Service Center are cars that get driven — a Cayenne or Macan doing the school run and the Beltway commute, a Panamera used as a daily, a 911 or Boxster that comes out on good weekends. All of them need the same thing from a shop: someone who will do the maintenance properly and be straight with you about what the car actually needs.

What we watch on a Porsche

Cooling and coolant leaks. This is the single most common reason a Porsche ends up on our lift. Coolant lines, thermostat housings, water pumps and expansion tanks are the usual suspects, and on these cars a small seep will hide until the engine is warm. We pressure-test the system cold so the leak shows itself on a lift rather than in your driveway. Cooling system service.

Oil service on the correct specification. Porsche engines are specific about oil grade and about interval, and using the wrong specification to save a few dollars is a bad trade on an engine that costs what these cost. We use the specified oil and filter. Oil change service.

Brakes and tires. Large rotors, aggressive pad compounds and real weight mean a Porsche goes through brakes and tires faster than most owners expect, and a Cayenne carrying staggered tires cannot simply be rotated front to back. We measure, we quote the correct pad compound rather than the cheapest one that fits, and we check alignment whenever wear is uneven. Brake repair and tires, rotation and balance.

Suspension and steering. Control arm bushings, links and, on Cayennes with air suspension, the ride-height system are all things we inspect rather than assume. Suspension and steering.

Diagnostics. A warning light on a Porsche usually names a circuit, not a part. We diagnose to the cause before quoting, and if a job genuinely needs factory-only tooling we will say so rather than take your money to find out. Diagnostics.
